UPS Import Shipping for International Customers

We now allow International Customers to use our UPS account to handle shipping to us, return shipping and return customs clearance. This usually results in no import duties, with the exception of possible import duties charged for the services provided by AFA. You should however, not be charged import duties, based on the value of the items sent over for grading.

How do I send my items to AFA using your UPS account?
  1. Pack and seal your submission using the proper packing materials to ensure that your items are safe while in transit. (Be sure to include the completed submission packet within the box.)
  2. Once your items are packed and sealed go to www.UPS.com (go to Shipping > Calculate Time and Cost) and enter the following information.
    1. Ship From and Ship To Country, City and Postal/Zip Codes (AFA is located in the United States, the city is Roswell, and our postal code is 30076)
    2. Shipment Type: Package/Letter
    3. Destination Type: Commercial Address
    4. Shipment Date
    5. Total Shipment Weight
    6. Number of Packages
    7. Quote Type: Detailed Time and Cost
    8. Number of Packages
    9. Packaging
    10. Package Dimensions
    11. Shipment Weight
    12. Declared Value
    13. View the Time and Cost Summary provided
  3. Select the method of shipment that best fits your needs. You may only select UPS Express or UPS Expedited. (Any other selected methods will result in the Customer paying the full published rates. Discounts are only given to those who utilize the Express and Expedited services.)
  4. Process your shipment online or at your local UPS distribution center and bill the shipment to the receiver using account #2Y0569. Send all packages to:

What discount off of the published rate will I receive by using your UPS account?

If my country is not listed, will I receive a discount?
AFA currently only offers discounts to the Countries listed above; however, we hope to be able to add more locations in the near future. Please contact our offices to inquire about discounts for additional countries.

What documentation should I include to ensure my package goes through Customs duty free?
AFA suggests that you fill out our Customs Clearance Documentation and include it on the outside of the package next to the shipping label. Please visit here for the necessary forms.

What should I write as the description of the package contents?
Please use the following statement when describing the contents of the package:
Toy Action Figures: The contents of this package are being sent to the U.S. temporarily for grading and authentication purposes. No sale has occurred.


What fees will I incur if I choose to use this service?
The Customer is responsible for all cost incurred by the receiver. The cost include, but are not limited to shipment, pick up, and/or customs clearing fees.

Is the cost of insurance included?
Yes. If entered online and declared on your package, the insurance rates are included in the cost of shipping.

Can my package be tracked while in transit?
Yes.

Can I request that a Signature Confirmation be added to my package?
Yes.

Will I need to inform AFA that may package is being imported to their offices?
No.

When and how will I be billed for the shipment?
AFA is billed by UPS weekly. Once the billing statement is received and reviewed by our offices, the shipping cost of your package will be added to your AFA account and charged immediately.

Is there a usage limit?
No. Feel free to use our UPS account as much or little as you would like.
