COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: I'm having trouble determing the return shipping costs for my submission.
A: Try reading our Shipping Instructions and referencing our Postage Costs page. If you are still having trouble, contact us.

Q: I'm an international customer and I'm worried about how much it will cost when you ship the items back to me.
A: If you would like to get an estimate on return shipping costs, we recommend visiting http://ircalc.usps.gov/ for USPS shipping and insurance charges. A standard AFA-graded carded action figure weighs approximately 2 pounds when packaged.

AFA Submission Form Page 3 Instructions


1) Choose whether you'd like your items returned to you via UPS or USPS and circle one. (Please note: We cannot ship UPS to a P.O. box)

2) Total the Total Insured Values from all your submission lists.

3) Look up the Return Shipping and Insurance Costs for your items on our Postage page. You will fill in this information on the next section.

OR

Enter your UPS or FEDEX account information in the grey area. You will not need to calculate the return shipping and insurance costs. We will ship the items back to you and your account will be billed for the return shipping costs. You will need to pay by credit card if you choose this option. We will charge your credit card an additional $5 per box for return shipping materials. If you choose this option write $0 for Shipping/Handling and Return Insurance in the next section.

4) Grading Costs Owed = Write the Total Grading Costs from the Submission List(s).

5) Total Due for Submission Lists = Total the Grading Costs from Step 4.

6) Total Due for Shipping/Handling = Calculate your S/H costs for your entire submission using our Postage Costs page.

7) Total Due for Return Insurance = Calculate your insurance costs for the entire submission based on the Total Insured Value of your combined Submission List(s). You will find the return insurance costs listed on our Postage page.

8) Optional Signature Confirmation = Write "$2.50" in this box if you want us to require Signature Confirmation on your return package. This will stop the package from being left on your doorstep.

9) Total Amount Due = Add up amounts from Steps 5-8. This is the total amount due with your submission.
10) Select your method of Payment

a) If you choose to pay by Credit Card, enter the appropriate information here. Please make sure you fill this information out correctly. Your turnaround time will not begin until we receive payment, so if there is a problem with your card it will delay your figures. International customers and those in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, or Alaska MUST provide a credit card number for the return shipping costs to be charged to.


b) If you choose to pay by Check or Money Order, please make it out to AFA, Inc. If you pay by personal check, it will take 7-10 days to clear the bank. Your turnaround time will not begin until the check clears. Therefore, we ask that you not send personal checks for Premium or Archival submissions.
