COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: I'm having trouble determing the correct tier for my items.
A: Try reading our Tier Instructions and referencing our Pricing and Tier Codes page. If you still have trouble, contact us.

Q: I might be interested in upgrading to UV Resistant acrylic cases. Where can I find more information?
A: For more information view our UV Resistant Acrylic detail page.

Q: I don't know the value of my figures. What should I do?
A: We recommend searching eBay for completed auctions of similar figures. Please keep in mind that your return shipment will be insured for the total value that you declare the figures are worth. If the package is lost or damaged this will be the maximum amount you can claim on insurance. Therefore, be as accurate as possible when determining how much to value your figures for.

AFA Submission Form Page 2 Instructions

Make sure you use a seperate Submission List for each Tier you are submitting under.

Enter each item on its own line. Fill in all applicable information.
  • Year = the year the toy was produced
  • Company = the company that produced the toy
  • Series = the toy line
  • Title = the type of toy
  • Card Type (if applicable) = the type of packaging
  • Figure Name = the character or figure
  • Variation (if applicable) = any variation from the common production of the toy
  • Fair Market Value = the current value of the toy (make sure you are accurate because this determines how much we will insure the toy for when we return it to you.) If you need help determining the toy's value please check current ebay prices or Tomart's toy guide.
  • Tier = the AFA grading tier that you will to submit the toy under. Check our Pricing and Tier Codes page for current Tier codes.
  • Qty = the Quantity of that toy that you are submitting
  • UV Upgrade = Write "no" if you want your toy cased in regular acrylic. Write "yes" if you want to have your toy cased in UV-resistant acrylic. There is an additional fee based on the type of item you are submitting. The UV Upgrade fees are listed below the Tier pricing on the Pricing and Tier Codes page. If you are submitting your item under the Archival Tier the UV Upgrade is included in the submission fee.
  • Tier Cost = the submission fee for that tier and item. The Tier costs are listed on our Pricing and Tier Codes page.
  • Qty x Tier Cost = multiply the tier cost (plus the UV Upgrade cost, if applicable) times the Quantity you are submitting to get the total cost for that line.
Total the following columns from this submission list:
  • Total Insured Value = Add the total value of all figures submitted. Make sure this amount is accurate as this will be the amount your return shipping is insured for.
  • Total Qty = Total the number of figures you are submitting on this submission list.
  • Total Grading Cost from this form = the total Grading Cost from this submission list.
Decide which options you would like for your items:
  • Do you want your item cased if it is refused due to restoration or tampering? Check "yes" if you still want the item cased or check "no" if you would like it returned to you uncased. (Note: you will be charged the grading fee regardless.)
  • What case style would you prefer? You have the choice of Classic View or Clear View styles. For more information view our Case Choices page.
  • Do you want your loose figures graded in or out of the baggies? (Only Applicable to factory bagged loose figures.) If you choose "Bagged" the item will not be removed from its plastic baggie and will be cased within the baggie. If you choose "Loose" the item will be removed from its baggie and cased loose.
  • Do you want your figures graded in or out of their clam shells? (Only Applicable to factory Clam Shell items - like Star Wars OTC. Not applicable to after-factory Clam Shell cases such as Star Cases). If you choose "In the Factory Clam Shell" the figures and clam shell case will be put inside the AFA case in tact. If you choose "Out of the Clam Shell" your figure will be taken out of the clam shell and cased as normal. This is recommended so that your figures will be cased in a standard size case.
